Professor of Nephrology and Consultant Nephrologist at Manchester University Hospitals & University of Manchester, UK. Hemodialysis Programme Lead for East Sector Greater Manchester, UK. Currently serving as Chair of Dialysis Society, Deputy Director for NIHR, UK and Vice Chair of EUDIAL (European Renal Association). Special interest in Transformation of Clinical pathways. Additional roles as Research and Innovation Lead for Manchester Royal Infirmary and Integrated Renal Clinical Academic training programme Lead at University of Manchester with supervision of Research student fellowships in Nephrology. He has authored over 140 publications, several book chapters and clinical guidelines and is a member of the Board of Directors for International society for Hemodialysis (ISHD) and Steering committee member of two international consortiums in Home Dialysis. Professor Mitra is recipient of the winning prize of NHS Innovation Dragon Den’s Challenge Award, NICE award and listed as a Top 50 UK Health Service Innovator (HSJ). He is passionate about improving clinical effectiveness and connecting ideas and innovators to create solutions that benefit patients, pathways, and providers.
