Ρήγας Καλαϊτζίδης

Dr Kalaitzidis received his medical degree from the University of Ioannina in Greece. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine in the General Hospital in Arta and then completed  fellowship in Nephrology in the Department of Nephrology at the University Hospital of Ioannina in Greece.

In 1999 he   completed a Training Curse as a research fellow in Nephrology and Hypertension in the Blood Pressure Unit, St. George’s in London.

He served as Consultant in Nephrology at the Renal Unit in the General Hospital of  Filiates  in Thesprotia  in Greece .(2001-2006)

In the period 13.7.2008-12.7.2009 served as a research fellow in the Hypertension unit, Section of Endocrinology at the University Of Chicago School Of Medicine in Illinois.

For the period 28.07.2014 έως 2.02.2021 was served as Nephrology specialist, Director NSH in the Department of Nephrology at the University Hospital of Ioannina in Greece.

Since 2.02.2021   he was transferred in Athens and serves as Nephrology specialist, Director NSH at the Department of Nephrology in the General Hospital of Nikaia- Piraeus

Dr Kalaitzidis is a co-author in a more than 140 International and Greek publications in scientific journals and in 17 books-chapters in Greek and International scientific publications – His Citation Index is  (ISI): 2528 and  h-index (ISI):28

Since 2016 he has been the Editor of the “Arterial Hypertension” the official Journal of the Hellenic Society of Hypertension.  For the period 2022-2024 he serves also as Vice president of the Hellenic Society of Hypertension.
