I completed my Medical Degree (MD) at the University of Athens Medical School in 1994, and consequently completed my clinical specialty training in Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism in 2003. During the past decade, I have been able to develop a strong and highly specialized translational research profile. My PhD degree (Ph.D. Thesis: “The development of children with premature adrenarche-association with mutations in CYP21A2 gene”) was awarded in 2007.
My research activities focus in polycystic ovary syndrome, insulin resistance, adrenals and thyroid and are reflected in numerous publications (75) in international peer-reviewed journals with a citation index of 2045, with an h-index of 25 (Scopus). In addition,. Furthermore, I currently serve as an Editor in Chief to “Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism Case Reports” official Journal of European Society of Endocrinology, and as Associate Editor to “Hormones”. Additionally, I have served as Guest associate Editor to Frontiers of Endocrinology in the topic “Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia, Unresolved Issues and Implications on Clinical Management”. I am an active Reviewer to several scientific journals
